Determinants of analytics-based managerial decisionmaking

This study investigates how managerial decision-making is influenced by Big Data analytics, analysts’ interaction skills and quantitative of senior middle managers. The results a cross-sectional survey IT managers reveal that analytics (BDA) creates an incentive for to base more their decisions on analytic insights. However, we also find analysts – even so managers’ are stronger drivers analytics-based decision-making. Finally, our analysis reveals that, contrary mainstream perceptions, in smaller organizations capable terms skills, they significantly likely than large organizations. Considering the important role leveraging decision support, findings suggest firms may owe some advantages fact have who closer generally.
